Dr Alex Oliver, University of Bristol

Business Partnerships Lead

Dr Alex Oliver joined REWIRE in September 2024 as the programme’s Business Partnerships Lead. Alex joined the University of Bristol from UKRI, having worked as a Senior Policy Adviser on the delivery of UKRPIF and infrastructure research policy at Research England and an Portfolio Manager in the ICT team at EPSRC. At the latter, he developed strategic interventions for the Electronics research portfolio, managed a range of relationships with key academics and partners, and provided analytical input to the UK Semiconductor Strategy.

Alex has a MSci and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. Alex’s role is focused on developing and managing relationships with REWIRE’s external collaborators and expanding the consortium by bringing in new industry and sector partners.
