REWIRE open call for power semiconductor innovation - Round 2

Following the successful funding of three projects in our first open call round, we are delighted to announce the next funding opportunity round for groundbreaking projects on wide band gap (WBG) and ultra-wide band gap (UWBG) power semiconductors.

Our call aims to accelerate innovation, support cutting-edge research, and create connections across the UK power semiconductor industry. Further details will become available soon.

About the call

REWIRE wants to support innovative and proof-of-concept projects on WBG and UWBG power semiconductors from a diverse range of industry and academic partners with funding of up to £50K. It is a great opportunity to advance your research, accelerate development and commercialisation and connect with the REWIRE network.

This is a unique opportunity to:

• Advance your WBG/UWBG power semiconductor research and technology
• Accelerate commercial impact
• Work with the dynamic REWIRE team to build long-term partnerships between industry and academia

Who can apply?: We welcome applications from industry, startups and research institutions working to develop the next generation of power semiconductor technologies for the UK.

How much?: We will fund projects with up to £50,000

How long?: Projects of up to 1 year

Deadline for round 2 of applications: 5th March 2026

Awards announced: 30th April 2026
