Dr Xiao Tang, University of Bristol
Dr Xiao Tang is a lecturer at the University of Bristol, where he focuses on the development of wide-bandgap semiconductor materials and devices, particularly GaN, AlN, and Ga₂O₃, for high-power and flexible electronics. His research aims to advance thin-film epitaxy techniques and device integration to enable next-generation electronic and optoelectronic applications.
Prior to joining Bristol, Dr. Tang was a research scientist at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where he specialized in the epitaxial growth and fabrication of wide-bandgap semiconductor devices using techniques such as mist-CVD, MOCVD, and PLD. His work contributed to the development of novel flexible transistors and optoelectronic devices. Before that, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Hamburg, focusing on nanofabrication and advanced materials characterisation.
Dr. Tang holds a PhD in Physics from the Technical University of Denmark, where he worked on thin-film epitaxy and device nanofabrication.
